Colorado is pretty year around, but it is extra pretty in the fall.
All of the golden aspen trees changing colors.
I have known Lauren for a long time, like 13 years or so.
When I found out she got engaged, I was so excited.
Jake and Lauren love to fish and enjoy the outdoors with their dog, Oakley. They wanted an engagement session to reflect them in every way. So to the mountains we went!
I was sworn to secrecy when they said they wanted pictures at their secret fishing whole. I think they actually considered blindfolding me. I wouldn't put it past Lauren.
Lucky for them. I am not an avid fly fisher. Stick me in a belly boat or kayak and I am happy on a lake.
We arrived mid afternoon to their secret locations.
Oakley was the first one out of the car and in the water.
I love including pets in pictures. I make weird sounds so they perk their ears up at me.
Oakley loved looking at the fish in the water.
Oakley was wondering what I was doing laying in the bushes on the other side of the river.
I always try to do something unique with each of my couples engagement rings. Since I knew this was going to be a fishing themed shoot, I thought a little out of the box.
I love Lauren's blue diamond ring.
From their secret locations, we headed south through the Rocky Mountains.
When your clients say, " I know this great little spot," make sure they tell you exactly what you are in for. I had to scale a cliff, but it was so worth it! I love adventurous couples!
Miss Oakley thought I was taking a picture of her. She posed perfectly!
We kept going south to Kenosha Pass. If you are from Colorado, you know that this is one of the prettiest passes for fall colors.
The wind had picked up a little. I love how it was blowing Lauren's long hair around.
I am so looking forward to their wedding in September of 2017! It will be Epic!
Congratulations, Jake and Lauren!
