What should you wear for you session?
I like to keep it simple, and I also love Pinterest! You can find lots of fun and creative ideas. But PLEASE don't stress out about what to wear.
I like to recommend that you think about where your portraits will hang in your home.
Do you have any themes in your home?
A certain color scheme in the room where you want the pictures to hang?
If you have beige walls, you might want to choose clothes that are neutral in color. If you have bright walls with lots of accent pieces, you should incorporate those colors in to your images.
Have mom wear a scarf or jewelry that matches your home interior color to tie them into the room.
Mom should always be the center of attention!
If you would like to bring props, please do! If you have a quilt that someone special made that you would like to have in your pictures, please bring it with you. I have several throws for families to sit on. I also have several little chairs and crates for small children to sit on.
At the bottom of this page there is a link to my Pinterest account. I have several boards on what to wear, as well as examples of different props I own and equipment that I have available for use in your session.
I like to do a consult with the families before our session, either in person, on the phone, or through email. I have even had clients text me pictures of the their plans for clothing so we can go over them together. I am happy to help in any way I can!
